Well done to the year 3s and 4s who went to Middlesbrough Sports Village for a school athletics competition. They were a pleasure because of their superb attitude and we were so proud of their achievements and of their behaviour.
What is permeability? Year 4 were testing which rocks were permeable and which were non-permeable? Why does water pass through some rocks but not others? Which rocks could be used as roof tiles? Answers on a post it...💧☔️🗻
Thank you to everybody who has worked so hard to raise this fantastic amount and raise the awareness of the superb work done by the NSPCC. You should all be so proud.
8th June 2017
Here are a few reminders about events for the last half term that will be taking place.
Sports: I would like to remind parents that we will text if we have to cancel sporting events due to rain. This is particularly important during Sports week when we may have to wait to see the forecast. Indoor events will not be affected but the field can become water logged due to poor drainage.
Photographs: Next Wednesday we will be having whole class photographs taken in Reception and Year 6 only, beginning with Year 6 at 8.30 a.m. for a small group of children attending a sporting competition. Other Year 6 children only need to arrive at the normal time as it is done in groups.
Professional Development Days: Our last three days when the children will not be in school are as follows: Monday 26th June (12 pupils doing Bikeability may come in that day and staff will be available to supervise this. They should arrive at 9.10 and be picked up at 11.20 a.m.). Thursday 20th and Friday 21st July.
Leavers’ assembly: This will take place on Wednesday 19th July at 2 p.m. for parents of Year 6 pupils.
Summer Fair: This will take place on Tuesday 18th July after school at 3.30 p.m., and will be outdoors and indoors (weather permitting). Parents will be asked to leave school premises by the usual exits and then come back in through the front doors at 3.30. This will allow us to control security for the fair and will give staff time to finalise the stalls.
On Friday 14th July we will have a non-uniform day and children will be asked to bring chocolate or bottle donations that day for one of the stalls at the Summer Fair. (Bottles should be handed in by parents at the front desk as a safety precaution). If we have any talented bakers out there we would be delighted to have donations of cakes provided they are free of nuts or nut products.
Meet the teacher: Monday 10th July after school.
